About this opportunity

CXOwork clients are looking for an experienced Fractional Sales Director with a strong background in IT Services / Technology Consulting who can actively hunt and acquire new clients.

This is a hands-on revenue generation role focused on building pipeline, opening new accounts, and closing deals. Ideal for sales leaders who are comfortable operating as both strategist and individual contributor, especially in early-stage or growth environments.

Core responsibilities

  • New business development & hunting: drive end-to-end new client acquisition across target industries and geographies
  • Identify, prospect, and engage with decision-makers (CIOs, CTOs, VP Engineering, business leaders)
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline through outbound efforts, networking, and partnerships
  • Sell IT services offerings such as software development, cloud, AI/automation, SAP, data, or managed services
  • Lead the full sales cycle: lead generation → discovery → solutioning → proposal → negotiation → closure
  • Position services effectively against competitors and articulate value clearly
  • Land new logos and expand into multi-project / long-term engagements; drive repeat business, referrals, cross-sell, and upsell within accounts
  • Define and refine go-to-market strategy for target segments and service offerings, aligned with marketing, delivery, and leadership teams
  • Maintain structured pipeline, CRM discipline, and accurate forecasting against KPIs (pipeline coverage, conversion, deal size, sales cycle)

Required qualifications

  • 10+ years in B2B sales with a focus on IT services or technology consulting
  • Proven track record of new-logo acquisition and closing six- to seven-figure services deals
  • Comfortable operating as both strategist and individual contributor — owning the full cycle hands-on
  • Deep network among CIOs, CTOs, VP Engineering, and senior business leaders in your target segments

Nice to have

  • Prior experience selling SAP, cloud (AWS / Azure / GCP), AI/automation, data, or managed-services portfolios
  • Experience standing up the first formal sales motion at an early-stage or growth-stage services firm
  • Familiarity with modern outbound, ABM, and partner-led GTM motions
